Sports Surfaces International, Inc. (SSII), a leading manufacturer of surface coatings for the recreation industry, announced today that it is changing it?s name to Stegas, Inc. and selling its service and installation division to Sports Venue Solutions, LLC. This will allow the company to concentrate on its core business of paint and coating manufacturing.
Under the terms of the agreement, Sports Venue Solutions, LLC will operate the service and installation business under the existing name, Sports Surfaces International, and will begin servicing customers immediately. The manufacturing and distribution portion of the business will operate under the name Stegas, Inc.
?Our installation customers will not experience any disruption in service and can expect the same high quality tennis and sports court installations they have come to expect from Sports Surfaces,? said Horace C. Robinson, President of Stegas, Inc. ?The new owner of Sports Surfaces, Greg Roscoe, has an extensive background in all facets of sport surfacing operations, including construction, design and project management, and is extremely qualified to handle the service business.?
Stegas, Inc. will now focus on the development and manufacturing of paint and coating surfaces and expanding the Acrytech recreational coatings product line. ?We have been manufacturing surface coatings for the recreation industry for over 17 years and are excited to concentrate on our current products as well as new product development,? said Robinson. ?We are confident that this new focus will bring us strong growth and a greater market presence as we continue to improve and expand our product line.?
Stegas? Acrytech tennis court paint has proven its effectiveness in the recreation industry and has been the driving force behind Stegas? emergence as an innovative leader in the recreational surface industry. There are now thousands of courts around the globe who trust Stegas? products to surface or update their recreational court surfaces.
The Company is scheduled to introduce new white line paint for the sport court industry in late August that will offer customers a brighter, whiter color that resists dirt and staining. Stegas also plans to diversify and expand into new markets.
