In a bid to rid Phuket of some its environmentally unfriendly plastic bags Tesco Lotus finally launched a campaign, be it only for 2 days, providing shoppers with cloth bags replace the plastic ones. Shoppers who visited and purchased good from either the Phuket Town or Thalang hypermarkets on 17th ? 19th August 2012 were given the more environmentally friendly cloth bags.
This campaign was one of many activities that Tesco Lotus is participating in to support Phuket?s commitment to improving its environmental. It is a part of Tesco Lotus?s commitment to reduce the environmental problems in the community. During the past Tesco Lotus has focused on supporting environmental activities in Phuket such as the project to reduce the number of plastic bags by giving away 30,000 cloth bags and has supported training programs aimed at teaching youngsters on caring for the environment.
Tesco Lotus and its employees will host a beach cleaning activity to clean up Surin Beach on 23 August 2012.
