Root and Recovery for the Sony Xperia T

Root and Recovery for the Sony Xperia T

It is always exciting when a new device is rooted. It means that users can enjoy the freedom of a rooted device, usually resulting in options such as custom recoveries, and so on. Of course, it?s always better when a device gets both at once. The Sony Xperia T is the latest device to get both root and recovery.

The method is something many of us have dealt with before. It involves unlocking the device?s bootloader and installing an insecure kernel. XDA Recognized Contributor krabappel2548?released an insecure kernel that helps get users rooted. The kernel features include:

- Autoroot
- Busybox
- Init.d support
- Insecure
- Debuggable
- CWM included

To install it, you?ll need the Android SDK. From there, download the kernel and place it in the same folder with ADB and Fastboot. Then, use Terminal or Command Prompt to flash it via Fastboot.

There are actually two kernels available. One for root and a second for root and recovery. Additionally, krabappel2548 has included the stock kernel. If you?d like to know more, go to the original thread.

NEW FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) ? A small Connecticut town was sent reeling in grief and confusion Friday after a popular fifth-grade teacher shot and killed a knife-wielding prowler in a black ski mask, only to discover it was his 15-year-old son.

No immediate charges were brought against the father, Jeffrey Giuliano, in the slaying of his son, Tyler, who was gunned down in his aunt's driveway next door to his own home around 1 a.m. Thursday.

"It's something out of a Hollywood script," said John Hodge, the first selectman, or top elected official, in the town of nearly 14,000 people about 50 miles from New York city. He said he couldn't recall another killing in his eight years on the job.

State police spokesman Lt. J. Paul Vance said the boy had never been in trouble with the law, and some of those who knew him described him as a good kid with an easygoing personality. Investigators and acquaintances said they were at a loss to explain what he was doing outside dressed all in black and carrying a weapon.

"Certainly, that is the major question we are trying to answer at this point," Vance said.

State police said the shooting happened after Jeffrey Giuliano got a call from his sister next door saying that someone might be trying to break into her home in their neighborhood of attractive colonial-style houses. Giuliano grabbed a handgun and went outside to investigate, troopers said.

He confronted someone in a ski mask and opened fire when the person came at him with something shiny in his hand, police said.

When police officers arrived, Tyler was lying dead in the driveway with a knife in his hand, and his father, in T-shirt and shorts, was sitting on the grass. Detectives informed the elder Giuliano several hours later that he had shot his son, Vance said.

"All in all it's a tragedy," Vance said.

Police were investigating whether the father's gun was registered.

No one answered the door at Giuliano's home or his sister's.

Tyler was a student at New Fairfield High School and a Civil Air Patrol cadet. Some of those who knew him said he enjoyed spending time with his family and flying gliders and small planes. He was adopted by Giuliano and his wife a few years ago, friends said.

One classmate said many students were baffled by what happened.

"I just thought it was so weird when I heard because I knew Tyler, not very well, but he was just a sweet person and he always made everyone laugh. I met him in the chorus room, actually, and he just wasn't the type to do what happened," said Erin Pallas, 16. "So it didn't make sense to us. It doesn't make sense to the student body."

Brett Rasile, a 14-year-old friend, said he and Tyler were playing an online game called Minecraft while talking and laughing together via Skype until about 10 p.m. Wednesday, when Tyler said he had to go to bed. Brett said Tyler wasn't in any trouble that he knew of, and nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

"Same old Tyler. He was perfectly fine," Brett said. "He didn't really leave any evidence, any hints towards what he would do."

Alicia Roy, New Fairfield superintendent of schools, said the elder Giuliano grew up in the town, holds summer music and zoology camps for his students and plays guitar in a local rock band that raises money for charity. He is affectionately known as "Mr. G" around Meeting House Hill School.

"He was the teacher you requested in the fifth grade. He was a great teacher. All the kids loved him," said Rosemary Rasile, Brett's mother.

Brian Wyckoff, 17, said Mr. G "was always walking around with a smile on his face. He always says hi to everyone."

The high school stayed open late to provide grief counseling for students and parents.

"The community is deeply saddened, and our hearts go out to all the family members," Roy said.

Obama calls on Congress to approve refinance plan

WASHINGTON (AP) ? Citing historically low mortgages, President Barack Obama is pressing Republicans to back housing policies the White House says would help struggling homeowners refinance their debts and prevent foreclosures.

Obama is blaming congressional Republicans for not passing legislation he proposed in February that would lower lending rates for millions of borrowers who have not been able to get out from under burdensome mortgages. Republicans have objected, citing among other things the estimated $5 billion to $10 billion cost of the proposal.

"Here we are - seven months later - still waiting on Congress to act," Obama said Saturday in his weekly radio and Internet address.

Congress has recessed and is not scheduled to return until after the November elections.

"Instead of worrying about you, they'd already gone home to worry about their campaigns," the president said.

Obama's push comes as home prices have been rising across the United States. National home prices increased 1.2 percent in July, compared with the same month last year, according to the Standard & Poor's/Case Shiller index released Tuesday.

In the Republican weekly address, Arizona congressional candidate Vernon Parker said the U.S. corporate tax rate is pushing jobs overseas. He said he agrees with GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his running mate, Paul Ryan, "that we need to stop all the looming tax hikes and develop a pro-growth tax code that brings jobs home and keeps jobs here."

He also called for the repeal of Obama's health care law.

Domestic Short Hair - Destiny - Small - Baby - Female - Cat

My story is interesting and I'm hoping to find a loving & understanding new mom/dad who will treat me as wonderfully as the folks at SARL and my foster mom did!! I was found spinning in circles under a school bus!! The bus driver noticed me before driving! Upon examination by the SARL veterinarian, it was discovered that I had a neurological condition, impairing my right side. After several weeks in foster care to see how much I could recuperate & heal from my mystery condition (hit by a car? head trauma?), I returned to SARL ready to steal someone's heart! My foster mom reports: I love to be held and cuddled, I love a laser light & kitten toys, I use the litter box perfectly! I cannot see out of my right eye. I need a quiet home as loud noises startle me quite a bit but the SARL vet is optimistic that I am going to do well once we get me back into a home setting where I belong! Are you my new mom or dad?

Knee replacements soar among US older folks

(AP) ? Just like age-defying baby boomers, older folks have seen a surge in knee replacement surgeries, driven partly by a desire to stay active and by joint-damaging obesity.

The findings are in a study of more than 3 million Medicare patients, aged 65 and older, who got artificial knees from 1991 through 2010. Almost 10 percent of the operations were redos ? replacing worn-out artificial joints.

The number of initial knee-replacement surgeries each year on these older patients more than doubled during that time, rising to nearly 244,000 in 2010. Patients were in their mid-70s on average when they had surgery; that age edged up slightly during the study.

The aging population and rising numbers of Medicare enrollees contributed to the increase. But the per capita rate also increased, from about 3 surgeries per 10,000 enrollees in 1991 to 5 per 10,000 in 2010.

"There's a huge percentage of older adults who are living longer and want to be active," and knee replacement surgery is very effective, said lead author Dr. Peter Cram, an associate professor of internal medicine at the University of Iowa.

The study appears in Wednesday's Journal of the American Medical Association.

The pace of growth slowed in more recent years ? possibly because increasing numbers of younger adults have also been getting artificial knees, which typically last 15 to 20 years. The troubled economy may also have slowed demand for an operation that costs about $15,000, the study authors said.

About 600,000 knee replacement surgeries are done each year nationwide on adults of all ages, costing a total of $9 billion, the authors said. A journal editorial says measures are needed to control costs of these operations, noting that demand has been projected to rise to as many as almost 4 million knee operations annually by 2030.

Obese older patient getting their first operations accounted for almost 12 percent, up from 4 percent. The rate was about the same in those getting redos. Obesity takes a toll on joints and can contribute to arthritis, a leading reason for knee replacement surgery.

The average hospital stay dropped from almost eight days to 3 1/2 days, but many patients were sent to rehab centers, mostly outpatient centers in the most recent years. Readmission rates after first and second operations increased in recent years for reasons including infections and surgery complications.

The results suggest that shortening hospital stays doesn't always achieve the goal of reducing costs, since readmissions increased ? a trend seen with other types of surgeries and illnesses.

There Are Many Different Military Jobs, Let's Look At Some Of Them ...

For many people, the military is more than a job, it is a way of life. Unsurprisingly, there are many different military jobs on offer. In fact, it isn?t as easy as simply joining the military, you do need to think about what your area of interest actually is. Military Jobs are generally subdivided first in the different branches of the military. The different branches of the military are the National Guard and Air National Guard, the Marine Corps, the Navy, the Army, the Coast Guard and the Air Force. It is best to first learn about these different areas before you choose to enlist, so you know where you stand. The National Guard is an area of particular interest, which we will describe more in detail below. Naturally, it is up to you whether or not you like the National Guard, but it will certainly prove to be a great challenge.

When it comes to the military, the National Guard is really unique. Just like other soldiers, those in the National Guard can be deployed to anywhere in the world whenever they are needed. However, what makes them different is that they are mainly responsible for the domestic security. In terms of equipment, there is no difference between someone in the Guard or someone in any other branch of the US Army. Some of the equipment that is used includes heavy-duty equipment, tanks, missile systems, assault vehicles, helicopters and artillery. This goes some way towards showing what sort of skills and experience a Guard needs to have.

At present, each of the fifty states has a unit of the National Guard. If there is an emergency, the governor can call them in to respond and protect. The Military may be required after natural disasters, for instance. However, the Guards also respond to other disturbances, including riots. The President is able to deploy the Guard internationally if there is a crisis on a global level. As you can see, this is one of the most varied types of military jobs. The chances of going abroad are reasonably slim, but this offers an attraction for many people. For them, protecting the homeland is actually the most important job they could have. However, just because the chances are slim, they are not nonexistent, particularly when considering we have had a number of global catastrophes lately. The National Guard may be the right branch of the military to go to if you want to protect your country. Plus, it is only in the Guard that you only have to give one weekend a month and two weeks of your summer in time.

Flagstar Bank to face trial over mortgage servicing: judge

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Flagstar Bank , the ninth-largest mortgage lender in the United States, must face trial next month over allegations that it breached contracts for financial guaranty insurance on nearly $1 billion in securities backed by home equity loans.

A federal judge in New York, expanding on an order he issued in February, wrote in an opinion issued on Tuesday that the plaintiff, Assured Guaranty Municipal Corp, had provided enough evidence to survive the bank's motion to throw out the case.

Flagstar spokeswoman Susan Bergesen said the savings bank had a policy of declining to comment on pending litigation.

In his opinion, U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff said he was skeptical that Assured Guaranty's allegations of Flagstar's failure to follow customary servicing practices amounted to gross negligence, misfeasance or bad faith. But the judge added: "The court finds that the plaintiff has presented enough evidence to survive summary judgment on this claim."

The trial is scheduled to start on October 9, he said.

Troy, Michigan-based Flagstar, which says it has assets of $14.4 billion and is one of the largest savings banks in the United States, settled a civil lawsuit by the U.S. Department of Justice over home loans last February.

The government said Flagstar had improperly approved thousands of home mortgages for government insurance, using unauthorized employees to perform underwriting duties in the loan approval process.

Flagstar settled for $132.8 million in damages and penalties, the office of the Manhattan U.S. Attorney said in its announcement. The bank admitted and accepted responsibility for submitting false certifications that misled the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Federal Housing Administration.

The case is Assured Guaranty Municipal Corp v Flagstar Bank, FSB in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, No. 11-2375

Santos GLNG: Underground Gas Transmission ... - LNG World News

Santos GLNG: Underground Gas Transmission Pipeline Construction Starts

Construction has commenced on Santos GLNG Project?s 420km underground gas transmission pipeline from its gas fields to Gladstone.

Santos GLNG Project Pipeline Manager Greg Jones said Saipem Australia was constructing the pipeline, which was scheduled for completion in less than two years.

?Saipem Australia has started work on the pipeline in Arcadia Valley with fencing, and clearing and grading well underway,? Mr Jones said.

?Sod has been turned on around 20km of the pipeline route, and the team is now undertaking stringing and bending of the pipe.

?This represents an important milestone as it means the pipes will be lined up along the route in preparation for trenching and burying.?

Stringing involves laying pipes end to end next to the trench alignment. The pipes are placed on padded bags that are raised on blocks of wood to protect the pipe. Bending is the process that then follows to use specialist machines to bend some pipe sections to adjust for minor variations in the route and terrain.

Mr Jones said burial of the pipe was due to start in Arcadia Valley in early November and once this is completed the area is backfilled and rehabilitated.

?We are working closely with landholders to construct the pipeline to ensure they know what to expect as we work on their property. We are looking to be on a landholder?s property for a period of three to four months, dependent on weather,? Mr Jones said.

?Santos has been working with regional communities for more than 50 years and we believe in working respectfully with landholders and we expect our contractors to uphold these standards as they work on our Project.?

Pipeline work will continue to traverse north from Arcadia Valley and then turn north-east to cross the Expedition Range. Temporary camps have been built along the pipeline route to ensure workers can be accommodated to alleviate pressure on housing and accommodation in the regions.

In another milestone, Mr Jones said Santos GLNG was pleased that Australian company Thiess had been awarded the contract to construct the pipeline under the Gladstone Harbour.

?Thiess will construct a 4.3km pipeline under the sea bed crossing the narrows in Gladstone without dredging or trenching which will minimise our impacts on the harbour,? Mr Jones said.

?Thiess have advised us that this project will provide job opportunities for around 125 people and they will be using a 95 percent Australian workforce.?

The pipeline will be closely aligned with the existing Queensland Gas Pipeline for much of its length. It will start approximately 40 kilometres east of Injune and travel north up the eastern side of Arcadia Valley. The pipeline will approach Gladstone from the south west, entering the Gladstone State Development Area and cross Port Curtis between Friend Point and Laird Point.

China joins 9-nation club with first aircraft carrier

AP

China's first aircraft carrier is decorated with colored flags at a shipyard in Dalian in northeast China's Liaoning province Monday.

By Ed Flanagan, NBC News

China brought its first aircraft carrier into service Tuesday, raising the country?s military capability amid heightened tensions with its regional neighbors.

Christened Liaoning -- after the port where the carrier was significantly overhauled after being bought from Ukraine -- this new addition to China?s navy is not large compared to America?s super carriers, but could still potentially have an impact on territorial disputes in the region.

?The aircraft carrier will play an important role in China's settlement of islands disputes and defense of its maritime rights and interests,? said Chinese naval expert, Li Jie, in an interview with Chinese newspaper, People?s Daily.???

The rest of China?s state media also played up the significance of the Liaoning, with the China News Service writing that the Liaoning would have ?far-reaching influence on protecting China?s territory, safety and development and to make the world more peaceful.?

Taiwanese ships clash with Japanese coast guard over disputed islands

The commissioning of the ship is a huge display of national prestige, elevating China to the nine-nation club of carrier-equipped navies.

Presided over by President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao, the unveiling of the Liaoning also comes just before a once-a-decade leadership change in China, during which a new generation of top leaders will be introduced.

China's Ministry of Defense welcomed the new ship, declaring that it would "raise the overall operational strength of the Chinese navy" and help Beijing to "effectively protect national sovereignty, security and development interests."

Japanese coast guard ships shoot water cannon at Taiwanese fishing boats in the East China Sea in a territorial dispute. NBCNews.com's Dara Brown reports.

The ship?s full capabilities remain unknown at this point, but the size of the Liaoning and China?s relative lack of technical experience with carrier operations suggests that it will serve more as a training vessel then a deployable ship for combat operations.

The carrier can reportedly hold a compliment of 30 fixed-wing fighters compared to the much larger American Nimitz class carriers than can carry around 90 aircraft.

China?s normally nationalistic newspaper, Global Times, warned yesterday that the Liaoning ?does not have the capacity to handle its tasks as it needs more adaptation to enhance its fighting capacity.?

Japan infuriates China by buying disputed isles

Still, the Global Times and other Chinese media were quick to link the launching of the Liaoning with the ongoing tensions around the region.?

Japan has been locked in a bitter spat with China over ownership of islands claimed by both countries.

The Japanese central government?s move this month to purchase the East China Sea islands, called Senkaku in Japan and Diaoyu in China, from their private owner led to heated nationwide protests in China that forced many Japanese companies like Panasonic, Toyota and Canon to suspend operations.?

Much at stake for US as tensions rise in troubled China Seas

While the protests have subsided, tensions have remained heightened. Just this week, China?s Vice Foreign Minister, Z|hang Zhijun told his Japanese counterpart, "China will never tolerate any bilateral actions by Japan that harm Chinese territorial sovereignty? Japan must banish illusions, undertake searching reflection and use concrete actions to amend its errors, returning to the consensus and understandings reached between our two countries' leaders."

Chinese protesters: 'The Diaoyu islands belong to China!'

Japanese embassy officials in London did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the Liaoning and ongoing territorial issues.

Tokyo has known for years about China?s aircraft carrier ambitions, but now must deal with the blowback of this announcement with an increasingly concerned and nationalist home audience.

With Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda poised to call for new elections later this year, he can ill afford to look weak on Chinese intransigence in the East China Sea.

Emotional anniversary reignites anti-Japan protests in China

The odds of war breaking out between the two largest Asian economies remain remote, but there have been clashes in the waters around the Diaoyu islands, with Chinese and now Taiwanese fishing ships entering the island chain?s territorial waters, a move the Japanese view as an intrusion on their territory.?

Though the Liaoning was formally named Tuesday, the carrier has actually been decades in the making.?The ship was built at a Ukrainian shipyard in 1988 and dubbed the Varyag.?It was purchased a decade later by China and retrofitted.

Scripps study in Military Medicine reveals reduced depression, cynicism among US Marines

SAN DIEGO (Sept. 24, 2012) Healing touch combined with guided imagery (HT+GI) provides significant clinical reductions in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms for combat-exposed active duty military, according to a study released in the September issue of Military Medicine.

The report finds that patients receiving these complementary medicine interventions showed significant improvement in quality of life, as well as reduced depression and cynicism, compared to soldiers receiving treatment as usual alone.

The study, led by the Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine in San Diego, Calif., conducted a randomized controlled trial of returning active-duty Marines at Camp Pendleton, Calif. from July 2008 to August 2010. Participants were separated at random into two groups, one that received treatment as usual (TAU) for PTSD and another that received TAU as well as healing touch (HT), a practitioner-based treatment aimed at eliciting the participant's own healing response, with guided imagery (GI), a self-care therapy aimed at eliciting relaxation as well as enhancing trust and self-esteem.

Significant Improvements Reported

After six sessions within a three-week period with a Scripps practitioner, the HT+GI group reported a significant improvement in PTSD symptoms as a result of these combined complementary therapies.

The principal investigators and designers of the study are Dr. Mimi Guarneri and Rauni King, founders of the Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine. The Samueli Institute of Alexandria,Va., conducted blind data analysis and authored the manuscript.

"Scores for PTSD symptoms decreased substantially, about 14 points and below the clinical cutoffs for PTSD," said Dr. Guarneri. "This indicates that the intervention was not just statistically significant, but actually decreased symptoms below the threshold for PTSD diagnosis. It made a large difference in reducing PTSD symptoms."

Study Criteria

The study included a total of 123 participants 55 who received TAU and 68 who received HT+GI and TAU. To be eligible for the trial, participants were screened to confirm that they were currently experiencing at least one of the following PTSD symptoms: re-experiencing of trauma via flashbacks, nightmares, intrusive thoughts, exaggerated emotional responses to trauma, emotional numbness, insomnia, irritability, exaggerated startle response, or avoidance of people or places that remind them of the trauma.

"Service members are seeking out non-drug complementary and integrative medicine as part of their overall care and approach to wellness," said Wayne B. Jonas, MD, president and chief executive officer of Samueli Institute. "This treatment pairs deep relaxation with a self-care approach that can be used at home .The results of this study underscore the need to make effective, non-stigmatizing treatments for PTSD available to all our service members."

Healing Touch and Guided Imagery

Healing touch is an energy-based, non-invasive treatment that restores and balances the human biofield to help decrease pain and promote healing. Healing touch is often used as an adjunct to surgery and other medical procedures to assist in pain reduction, decrease anxiety and elicit relaxation.

Guided imagery is a way of using the imagination to help a person, reduce stress, decrease pain and enhance overall well-being through visualization. For the purposes of this study, guided imagery was administered to the subjects through a recorded CD simultaneously with Healing Touch and then listed to independently by subjects at least once daily.

The study, "Healing Touch with Guided Imagery for PTSD in Returning Active Duty Military: A Randomized Controlled Trial" was authored by Shamini Jain, PhD, Samueli Institute; George F. McMahon, CDR, NC, USN; Patricia Hasen, CDR, NC, USN, Valencia Porter, MD, MPH; Rauni King, RN, MIH, CHTP; Mimi Gaurneri, MD.

The study was funded by a grant from The Taylor Family Foundation. Although this was a privately-funded study, it involved a military population and investigator and followed all Department of Defense-relevant research regulations. The views, opinions and/or findings contained in this report are those of the author(s) and should not be construed as an official Department of the Navy position, policy or decision unless so designated by other documentation.

    Earphones Can Cause Hearing Loss
posted by Suzanne Kantra on September 05, 2012
in Family and Parenting, News, Phones and Mobile, Headphones, Music and Video, Health and Home, Health & Fitness, Blog

Researchers at the University of Leicester have witnessed for the first time the damage that noises over 110 decibels can cause to nerve cells?sound levels earphones can generate when turned up too high. Lead researcher Dr. Martine Hamann explains, "Nerve cells that carry electrical signals from the ears to the brain have a coating called the myelin sheath, which helps the electrical signals travel along the cell. Exposure to loud noises - i.e. noise over 110 decibels - can strip the cells of this coating, disrupting the electrical signals. This means the nerves can no longer efficiently transmit information from the ears to the brain." Resulting hearing problems can include temporary deafness and tinnitus, or ringing in the ears.

The good news is that the researchers found that nerve cells' myelin sheathes can recover over of a period of about three months. These findings could lead to better means of prevention and a cure for some types of hearing loss.

Of course, it?s best if you never damage your hearing in the first place.

Most music players max out at about 103 decibels (dB), though some can reach sound levels of up to 120dB, which is like standing 100 feet behind the engine of a jet plane as it's taking off. According to the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD), more than a minute of exposure to 110 dB (ex. a chain saw) risks permanent hearing loss, as can 15 minutes at 100dB or prolonged exposure at or above 85dB.

If you?re not sure how loud your music player is, try turning it all the way up. If you can?t hear someone talking to you in the same room, the volume is too loud.

As a general rule, you shouldn?t turn the volume up to more than 75 percent of your device?s maximum level. For iOS devices, you can set a volume limit under the music settings.

Also, make sure your earphones fit properly; earphones naturally block ambient sound, so you won?t need to turn the volume up as high. Try holding the earphones in place to see if you?re getting a good seal. If you?re not, experiment with the tips that came with your earphones, keeping in mind that one ear may be slightly larger than the other and need different size tips.

And if you?re in the market for new earphones, look at the output decibel rating. Most will max out at around 100dB, but some offer sound limiting, especially earphones designed for kids; these earphones should only go up to 85dB.

Finally, take periodic 15 to 20 minute breaks when listening at high volume to let the inner ear recover.

If you are using isolation headphones, then how does using someone's voice as a measuring tool help to decide if your music is too loud? I have some earbuds that are rather open and I can hear someone talking, but others with good foam tips block out a lot of ambient sound. Seems like a rather loose barameter for in-ear decibel measurement.

The subject of the article is spot on though. Relative decibels via earbuds can be deceiving when you have the sound source inserted in your ear. During rehearsal, I cover my earbuds with industrial ear muffs (-37db) so I get very little ambient sound from the band except through my monitor mix. That way, I can keep the volume at a comfortable level and it sounds great! They are yellow so I don't wear them at gigs however. I also picked up a set of Vic Firth Iso Headphones and they have about a -25db reduction. I use those live when playing to tracks as I am more comfortable hearing the click with the iso phones. I use a small Behringer headphone amp and run a monitor send to it, then have my earbuds in one channel and VFs in another, making for an easy swap. Eventually will move up to molded earbuds to have the best of both worlds. Gotta be careful with those too...

My in-ears block ambient noise, so I have to be careful judging how loud the signal is coming in, which is hard to do objectively. I try to keep everything as quiet as possible, but when I'm really getting in to it, I notice I turn up over the course of the gig, then back it down when I notice how loud it's getting. Good article to use as a reminder.

Too bad there isn't (or is there?) a way to test the relative db level for an in-ear device...

Good article. I'm constantly warning my daughter to watch her headphone volume on her ipod. I would hate to see her have to deal with tinnitus like her old man!
