?

What surprised you about Massage Therapy in general?

How much my clients enjoy my work.

?

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
No projections into the future. My life is great right now! I?m enjoying the ride and the new experiences along the way.

?

Tell us a little about yourself:
Working with my hands is something I have enjoyed since I was a child. I was constantly putting things together and taking them apart, fixing everything from electrical appliances to cars and lawn mowers, but I never even thought about a career as a massage therapist. It wasn?t until I joined a health and fitness club that I realized how much I love helping others.

I took classes and became a certified personal trainer. This inspired me to learn more about the human body. I found myself attending Monroe Community College for a nutrition course, and I knew then I wanted to continue to learn. I took anatomy next and discovered my love for massage therapy. One day, my professor asked me, ?What do you plan on doing?? It was then I said I planned to become a massage therapist and made the commitment to do it. It was a perfect choice for my love of working with my hands and helping people.

While attending college, I was still working my full time job as a US Post Office Letter Carrier. It took me five years to complete a two-year AAS degree in Massage Therapy. I received my degree in May 2008 and retired from the Post Office with 30 years of service in December that same year.

?

My work is truly my passion. I have continued my thirst for knowledge and treatments with additional courses and education including human dissection, Arthrossage (treatment for arthritis), Ashiatsu (treatment using your feet), bamboo/cupping, Myofascial Mobilization and advanced chair massage. I even traveled to Costa Rica to take courses. I enjoyed sharing my knowledge and look forward to demonstrating to any of you what I have learned.

In March 2011, I opened my own practice, Full Spectrum Massage Therapy. Office is in Southview Commons, 300 White Spruce Blvd. Suite #128, Rochester NY 14623. I am also a massage therapist at the Westside Y. I enjoy cycling and have been an instructor for indoor cycling classes at the Y and Bally Total Fitness for 10 years. I also work at Wolk Manor, an assisted living home, where I give chair massages to the residents.

I have one daughter, Emily. She is a journalist and worked at the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle as a reporter for the ?Insider? and ?Our Towns.? She just completed her Master?s degree at the Newhouse School of Journalism at Syracuse University. She is continuing her studies and pursuing a Masters in Photography at Syracuse.

The more I learn, the better I am able to provide an extraordinary and unique experience for every treatment and client. Come to my office and experience for yourself.
