GOSHEN, N.Y. (AP) ? A jury has been seated for the murder trial of an upstate New York man charged with killing a woman he met at a New York City nightclub.
The Times Herald-Record of Middletown reports (http://bit.ly/wFQK9K) that jury selection wrapped up Tuesday in Orange County Court, where testimony is scheduled to begin Monday in Michael Mele's (MEE'-leez) murder trial.
The 26-year-old from Wallkill is charged with killing 25-year-old Laura Garza after they left a Manhattan nightclub in early December 2008. Her skeletal remains were found in April 2010 near Scranton, Pa.
Garza, an aspiring dancer, had moved to Brooklyn from McAllen, Texas, five months before her disappearance.
Mele has several sex-offense convictions in New York, most involving lewd conduct in front of women or girls.
